'Majan' aids disabled kids: Iran Actress

Iranian actress Mahtab Keramati says creation of cinematic works such as ‘Majan’ is the first step towards solving issues related to child with disabilities.

The actress portraying Moloud, the mother of a disabled child in the movie, told to the media on Thursday that the screenplay of this film can take the initiative to answer serious questions related to child disabilities.

She also noted that such movies should be made more often.

‘Majan’, meaning dear mom in some Iranian accents, tells the story of a couple who have to deal with hardships of raising their disabled kid.

The social drama, directed by Rahman Seifi-Azad, was screened for the first time at the 35th Fajr Film Festival.

The movie produced by Mohammad-Mehdi Asgarpour and written by Leila Larijani stars Mahtab Keramati and Farhad Aslani.

Since its establishment, the Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The screening sessions will last for 8 days from January 29 to February 9.
